ANSTON - ROUND 4
Well round 4 of the Ukahft started when most of the M.A.D team arrived at the pub next to the Ibis hotel in chesterfield.
On arriving I was pleasantly surprised by the pub being so smart and not the spit and sawdust I had been warned about.
After sinking a couple of beers to help the travel weary it was on to the carvery which was lovely until someone was told off for swearing too much,
I cant say who it was but it always seems to be the SAME OLD FACES.
A few beers later and it seemed Vinny became the entertainment for the night for many reasons, one of them being to keep us at the bar all night.

The morning began with a trip to the plinking range for most and a side bet taken by others, Terry steamed ahead in the side bet with Dop
later to take revenge.
The weather seemed spot on with a nice breeze and a sunny sky a forecast of possible showers due at some stage.
Ian took over as captain for the day as Terry was on weather alert.
So the first rounders went off to do their best and set a target for second session to beat. After a few targets the weather
looked worse and a few spatters of rain was felt, Terry was looking nervous.
I shot round with a great guy called Steve who said the only badges he has achieved were bronze well after about my 4th target my
first dink on a high kneeler and Steve continued to knock them down and left me thinking bronze right oh.
Suddenly the skies opened and
let an unfriendly shower down and as the bad luck with weather came so did Steves misses. With a couple of dinks on his score card I decided
to make him feel better and dink peg 30.

Me at peg 16 as prone as I can be
Steve finished up dropping 6 shots and I held on for 2 so he was happy and I was elated and headed back to find the others scores.
On seeing Tel I could tell he wasn’t happy he said it wasn’t that fact that his plastic water coat that he had quickly fitted to his FTR
due to rain and caused his poi to change but the fact that Dop had done him to win the 2nd side bet.
The scores were varied from the team with Owen on 58 and already talking of a shoot off.
But why some of us grabbed our high vis jackets and headed out to marshal the 2nd session shooters headed to their pegs.

Unfortunately the weather did not improve and after an hour or so the heavens opened and about a month worth of rain fell.
I did feel sorry for those unlucky shooters as I headed for the cover of the food wagon.
When the wet, tired shooters returned Ian collected the cards and added the scores, it was looking good for M.A.D and a shoot
off for the open between Owen, Kieran and myself, and for the ladies Steph and Heather turner again.
Steph and Heather went first and with 3 targets to knock down it was Heather that came out victorious.
I was chosen to go first for the men and after just one fell I thought it was an early bath for me, but to my surprise Keiran
managed only one and Owen none so on to the kneelers.
Somehow with a bit of luck the wind blew the pellet into two killzones and Kieran then had a real challenge.
First shot dink ….. second dink … it was all over and the trusty EV2 and me had won the day.

Top team of the day went to im surprised to say M.A.D with Owen, Myself, Colin, Steph, and the daddy making up the five scores.

We did it again............
It goes to show the effort every one at the club is putting in and I am just glad to be part of it.
Well done to all that travelled up to Anston and made it such a great weekend, and we can now look forward to The next round.
